There is no excuse good enough anymore. No excuse that will make it ok to remain unhealthy or eat unhealthy. Well at least not all the time. As you all know this year I have started to eat healthier, to cut back where I can and definitely stay away from fried junk. As Indians salads are a way of life for us. Most meals must include a fresh vegetable salad or a light yogurt based raita. But I have a thing for fresh fruits. Barring banana and jack fruit, I love every other fruit.

Fruit salad platter

First day I served this in a way that my mom has always been partial to, a sprinkling of Indian chaat masala, lime and just a bit of honey! This takes barely anytime to make and is a little tangy from the chaat masala lending the fruit salad platter a bit of a savory note. The second way is my personal favorite. I love a simple salad dressing that makes no time to put together and can be a blessing for those quick salad lunches. Out of an entire plethora of dressings, I have always been in love with this particular one. of course for its simplicity but more than that coz of how delicious it is, how perfect for any salad bowl, whether its a veggie salad, this Thai shrimp salad bowl or even a simple fresh fruit salad platter. Its just a mix of cold pressed organic sesame oil, palm jaggery and lime juice. Done!! And trust me when I say its delicious!! Like smack your lips and finish the plate good! So go ahead try it this Valentine’s Day and definitely at least once a week.
