Fruit salad platter is the best thing you can treat yourself to this year. Season fresh fruits made even more delicious with two different dressings. Both simple, both quick and both perfect accompaniment to the fresh fruit platters.
There is no excuse good enough anymore. No excuse that will make it ok to remain unhealthy or eat unhealthy. Well at least not all the time. As you all know this year I have started to eat healthier, to cut back where I can and definitely stay away from fried junk. As Indians salads are a way of life for us. Most meals must include a fresh vegetable salad or a light yogurt based raita. But I have a thing for fresh fruits. Barring banana and jack fruit, I love every other fruit.
This fruit salad platter is just what you need to ensure you get your daily dose of fruits. There is nothing better than fresh fruits to satiate your hunger pangs while making you feel good about yourself. This simple fresh fruit salad platter does just that. Give the usual avocado and lettuce salad a pass and opt for this fruit salad platter instead. I promise you with the two ways of serving that I am going to share here, this will soon be everyone’s favorite way of starting a meal. In fact I am going to serve this fruit salad platter for the Valentine’s day dinner and why not! Isn’t Valentine day about love? And what shows more love than taking care of your amore’s health?
An anything but boring take on a scrumptious fruit salad platter served with a sesame, jaggery and lime dressing. Its everything you need to dispel the blues and add colors to your plate and palate both. And hey who said salads or fruits have to be boring? But before that let me tell you a little bit about this fruit salad platter.
First day I served this in a way that my mom has always been partial to, a sprinkling of Indian chaat masala, lime and just a bit of honey! This takes barely anytime to make and is a little tangy from the chaat masala lending the fruit salad platter a bit of a savory note. The second way is my personal favorite. I love a simple salad dressing that makes no time to put together and can be a blessing for those quick salad lunches. Out of an entire plethora of dressings, I have always been in love with this particular one. of course for its simplicity but more than that coz of how delicious it is, how perfect for any salad bowl, whether its a veggie salad, this Thai shrimp salad bowl or even a simple fresh fruit salad platter. Its just a mix of cold pressed organic sesame oil, palm jaggery and lime juice. Done!! And trust me when I say its delicious!! Like smack your lips and finish the plate good! So go ahead try it this Valentine’s Day and definitely at least once a week.
